About Me

Hello, I’m Alexandrea Waytes, PMHNP-BC

I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a Master’s degree in Nursing from Walden University and over 20 years of clinical experience working in a wide variety of psychiatric settings and positions.

My journey in mental health is not only professional but also deeply personal. Growing up, I faced my own struggles with childhood mood disorder, ADHD, bipolar disorder, and PTSD.  Those experiences shaped who I am today and gave me a unique perspective on what it truly means to live with—and rise above—mental health challenges.

Because I have walked this path myself, I understand how isolating and overwhelming it can feel when you’re struggling. I also know that healing and hope are possible. Today, I dedicate my career to helping others like me break free from labels, find their strength, and live fulfilling, purpose-driven lives.

My mission is simple: to provide compassionate, evidence-based care that helps people gain hope, find balance, and realize they are not defined by their diagnosis.

"Carrying Hope, Walking Strong"

“Like the elephant, we walk with quiet thunder—
carrying the weight of our struggles,
yet moving forward with grace.
Strength does not mean the absence of pain,
but the courage to continue the journey.
Wisdom grows from each step we take,
even through the darkest valleys.
Gentle with ourselves, powerful in our resilience,
we discover that healing is not a destination,
but a path walked with strength, wisdom, and hope.”
